What is a Christian these days?

hello all,

Its been awhile..how has everyone been?
it seems christianity changes with culture, what was wrong 20 years ago isnt so wrong anymore.
what was bad 20 years ago isnt bad anymore.
It seems also my american freinds tend to think God is fighting an all out war with any countries that differ with us.
It is really sad how sad many fundamentalists have become in this warped way of thinking and this warped way of defining God if there ever is a way to do that.
One cannot have a relationship with God based on ego..creating God in the mind is not servitude or having a relationship with God just wishful thinking,
what if your whole concept is wrong?what if what your thinking is wrong about God and is just based on the God you created with your thinking?
you wonder why actions count so much.then you know that thinking is just that thinking.so show your love for others with your actions and not your intellect or how much you think you know.because in the end that gets no one anywhere in the sense that it is all in black and white and red in the new testament..especially in the gospels of what a christian is and does..and to say works dont mean nothing isnt completely correct..without works we are just spiritual couch potatoes watching the world die and go by.so in closing remember to always practice what you teach.remember that love is more important than being right.

have a good day

the Gospel of Bondage

Bruce CockBurn
THE GOSPEL OF BONDAGE

tabloids bellowing raw delight
hail the return of the Teutonic Knights
inbred for purity and spoiling for a fight
another little puppet of the New Right

see-through dollars and mystery plagues
varied detritus of Aquarian Age
shutters on storefronts and shutters on the mind
we kill ourselves to keep ourselves free from crime
that`s the gospel of bondage

we`re so afraid of disorder we make it into a god
we can only placate with state security laws
whose church consists of secret courts and wiretaps and shocks
whose priests hold smoking guns and whose sign is the double cross

but God must be on the side of the side that`s right
and not the right that justifies itself in terms of might
least of all a bunch of neo-nazis running hooded through the night
which may be why he`s so conspicuously out of sight
of the gospel of bondage

you read the bible in your special ways
you`re fond of quoting certain things it says
mouth full of righteousness and wrath from above
but when do we hear about forgiveness and love

sometimes you can hear the Spirit whispering to you
but if God stays silent what else can you do
except listen to the silence?
if you ever did you`d surely see
that God won`t be reduced to an ideology
such as the gospel of bondage

the word "gospel" literally means "good news." Jesus brought as His gospel the "good news of the Kingdom of God."

Ten things you can do to help others as a christian

wow dudes and dudettes..its been so long since I have written a new blog.
So I was thinking today..and thought I would write one on what Christians can
do to help others,as we know action speaks louder than words. Actually action
is really the only thing that speaks when you are helping someone in the physical.
So here they are

1.Visit a nursing home and talk to the people there and read from the bible and witness to those that dont know Jesus.

2.Visit orphans and show them your love and talk to them and witness to them.

3.Give food to a food pantry..help those in your community that need food assisstance.

4.Give what you can to programs that assist the needy.

5.talk to someone about Jesus..online or offline.let them know he cares and wants
to give them abundant life.

6.Join big brother big sisters..give to a childrens fund..christian compassion..save the children etc.

7.Lend and expect nothing back//I know that isnt the american way..but it is the Jesus way.

8.Go to the hospital and visit the sick and pray with them if they so want.

9.Help people that are disabled mentally and in other ways.

10.volunteer in your church ..get active in it.

These are only a few..if you have more please leave in comments.

may our Lord Jesus Christ richfully bless you.
